In 98SE I just updated DirectX 9.0 to the latest version..9.0.C. Unfortunately I now have a probllem playing RAX files from RealOne's music store. I am being told that the sound card PCI128 is not compatible with the upgraded DirectX. I tried to go back to DirectX previous 9.0.B but Microsoft tech support was unable to resolve this. I am in contact with Realone's tech support but am not optimistic about resolving this. I have purchased these music files but now they are worthless. Any help or ideas ?

Thanks,

Sasha

Just boot to Safemode/Device Manager and remove all the entries under
the,"Sound Video Game controllers section and re-boot and let windows
refresh them.More info here, and why,
